Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I have always loved the aspect of being on a team and creating close friendships, and volleyball has been such a passion of mine since I first stepped on the court.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the court, I am a captain of my team. I’m always there to hear any of their concerns and push them to be their best. Often before games, I will lead a fun stretch circle/mini yoga session to get my teammates ready for game time. Off the court, I participate in a program called Rock Solid which pairs 2 or 3 juniors/seniors with a group of freshmen to lead team building and communication games.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As an athlete, my health is very important to me. To keep myself healthy I monitor my diet and continue to exercise and work out during my offseason. I also take extra time when I stretch before games and practices to make sure that I am entirely warm to avoid pulling muscles or other injuries.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In my community I participate in multiple service events whenever I can. This fall, I organized a community clean up in our town where myself and a group of other volunteer students picked up trash that had been thrown on the ground of our town. I also assisted the Wiawaka House on Lake George during their closing day. We stripped beds, prepared the rooms for winter, and raked leaves in the yards. Community service is important to me because nothing is better than seeing the happiness it brings people.
