Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

My athletic abilities have been the major focus of my whole life. Sports has been my social arena. I enjoy being active and physically fit. I believe excelling physically keeps me focused academically.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am captain of my high school gymnastics team this year. I have previously been captain of the high school softball team. I am a member of Diversity club at my high school. I am also involved in Husky Link, which provides assistance to freshmen students entering high school.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I realize that my good time management skills allow me to prioritize my homework demands. I am dedicated to my training and practice schedule. I make sure I get enough sleep. I am consciously aware of eating a healthy diet. I enjoy free time with my friends and family.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been teaching at the YMCA for the past 3 years. I created and organized yoga and tumbling courses for children under age 8. I have volunteered for many community events such as 5K and 10K runs. I participated in team building and motivational staff meetings to increase community awareness of the positive social and physical/mental aspects of YMCA involvement.
I have been a member of the National Honor Society for the last 2 years. My volunteer opportunities include participating in field day events at the elementary schools. I am also a member of Students for Healthy America.
I am currently employed as a babysitter for a foster family of 4 young children diagnosed with autism and other development disabilities.
