I have worked with and had Aaron Roth as a mentor and club fitter for about 2 years. He has helped me better my swing and lower my scores. Working with him has helped me a lot because I finally found someone who loves the sport as much as I do and who still is able to teach me something new every time we get together.

I have also worked with golf coach Eric Chiles for about a year. He has helped me perfect the accuracy of my swing and increase the speed of my swing.

My passion for golf started when I was around 7 years old. Between the ages of 10 and 15, I was in a girls golf league hosted by golf pro Andrea Kellar who has also been a great mentor to me.

Today I love to play golf whenever I get the chance to. During the summer, I normally play with family or friends at least 3-5 days a week; this could be playing 9 or 18 holes or just going to the driving range.

Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love the personal growth and team comradery associated with being on a high school golf team and would love to expand that experience at a college level. My highest priorities are finding a college that is a great fit for me academically and socially. If the right college also includes a golf team that is a great fit for me --based on the coach, the team culture and the other team members, that would be my dream.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During golf practice, I do my best to set a good example of using my practice time wisely and keeping a good attitude no matter how I am playing that particular day. Recently, I was playing a practice round with a group of girls on my team of various experience levels. When the less experienced players struggled, I still tried to find ways to encourage them with what was working for them that day. Maybe the shot landed in the fairway, or it went straight or they selected the right club, even though the shot did not work out. When I first joined the team, the older girls on the team used to do this for me and I remember how that made me feel.

In 2014, when I was 12 years old, I spoke to a group of around 400 people at a community meeting on behalf of my girl's golf league, the Patty Berg league. My purpose in speaking was to recommend that the city of Edina not close our home league course, named Fred Richards, as this particular executive course was very valuable to young players like me and elderly players who were no longer were able to play on our city's regulation course. The leader of our league, Andrea Kellar, also spoke at the same event.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

First of all, school is always a priority for me so I work hard to use my free time wisely to stay on top of my school work.

Some of the things I do outside of official practices for golf (and hockey) include running, biking and weight training. I also practice yoga and eat a healthy balanced diet including drinking lots of water.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

My school prioritizes community service. Each year, we are required to do a service project. While some kids complain about this requirement, I have always enjoyed it because I feel a great responsibility for helping people who are less fortunate than me.

For example, during the first semester of my junior year, I volunteered 35 hours of time serving an organization called Gigi's Playhouse. This is a downs syndrome achievement center for kids and adults. Our role as volunteers was to teach life skills such as how to prepare and cook well-balanced meals and how to exercise each day to stay strong and flexible. It was very rewarding to interact with my peers and the down syndrome kids and adults. It was interesting to realize we are all more similar than different.
