Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I have been playing sports since I was in 1st grade. It has become a passion of mine and a part of my identity. I use sports and physical activity as an outlet to relieve all of the stressors from my life. I could not imagine leaving that part of my life in high school. I have been playing lacrosse since 8th grade and I have developed more of a passion for it in that short amount of time than any of the other sports I have played. I wish to continue my Lacrosse career in college because I want to be able to showcase my athletic ability and to work with and bond with a whole new group of women.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the lacrosse field, I make sure to be helpful to incoming players who are new to the sport. I explain drills and rules to them when they don't understand, and I make sure to include them in team activities. Off of the field, I am in multiple honor societies. I pride myself with being able to help my peers with topics that they don't understand and to well-represent the societies that I am a part of.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As an athlete, I make sure to put the best possible things into my body. When given an option, I try to make the healthiest choice of food. I make sure to be aware of when I have games or practice and to eat the right amount of carbs and protein in correlation with the occasion. I refrain from drinking or smoking, unlike most high-school students due to how it would affect my performing ability. As an athlete with a form of asthma, if I were to smoke anywhere near a practice or a game, I would have serious issues and not be able to perform in the best possible way. Being drunk or intoxicated at or before a sport event is completely unprofessional and could cause me to injure myself or other players, therefore being completely unnecessary.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I currently volunteer with St. Mary's Soup Kitchen in downtown Memphis. Volunteering to help with the less fortunate and homeless in my city is an incredibly humbling experience. I feel that it is important to help in any way one can especially to help better the lives of people who struggle to survive.
