Sports has been a part of my life since I was five. I want to continue my Hockey career at the next level, and at the same time, receive an education to make a life for myself.
As a student Athlete, it is important for me to keep up on studies, attend practices and be a role model for others around me. The leadership I have shown has afforded me being named team Captain for my High School Hockey Team. It is also important for me to act accordingly off the ice and outside of school. Leadership off ice and outside school is exhibited by volunteering time as much as possible and representing myself, my school and my peers in a positive manner.
I currently skate five days a week during the season between my two teams. In the off season, I attend personal workout sessions at a local performance facility in the Pittsburgh area. I am also very conscious of how I fuel my body by eating properly and hydrating frequently. I am also aware of my sleeping habits and make certain I obtain enough rest at night.
I have volunteered time at local soup kitchens and food banks throughout the school years. I have also spent time serving my high school as a student ambassador. I am averaging approximately 30 service hours per school year. These events have taught me how to be a better person by serving others who are less fortunate. As a student ambassador, it has allowed me to share my high school experiences with potential incoming students.
