Personal Highlights

In addition to rowing, I am in Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Civil Air Patrol is the civilian auxiliary of the Air Force. This past year I was able to go to CAP encampment (much like boot camp) over winter break in Kentucky. CAP has taught me many things but most of all, respect and discipline. I have come to appreciate practicing drill for CAP, and I am thankful for the leadership opportunities CAP has provided me. I also volunteer for our local Down Syndrome Network and help with several of their fundraisers. I volunteer with the annual Buddy Walk which is a walk to promote inclusion and the annual 321 Dash, which is a race that includes and encourages those with Down Syndrome to participate. My younger sister has Down Syndrome so it is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. I am the oldest of four girls so when I have free time I spend much of it with my sisters and my friends.
