Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play sports in college because I believe I can help any swim team that needs me to achieve the goal of winning a championship. Over the past year and a half, my swimming has become very important to me because I have started to become very good at what I do, which is sprinting (50 Free, 100 Fly and Free, and the occasional 200 Free). I think it would be a great opportunity to be able to swim at a college and hone my skills to become the best swimmer I possibly can.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

For leadership in my sport, I was Team Captain for my high school swim team, and tried really hard this year of setting an example for the younger swimmers about respect and dedication to what we are doing. I kept everyone motivated and excited to swim at every meet, and also did things like relaying messages from my coach to the swimmers and leading team cheers. In my club, I am part of the group of swimmers that always helps with buddy clinics with our younger teammates, and the coach for that younger group of swimmers always says that I am very good with the younger children. As for off the field, along with volunteering at the Humane Society, I have also helped with Toys For Tots, which is where we help low-income parents get presents for their children/families for free.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue "healthy athletic performance" by doing a plethora of things, including trying my best to get enough sleep, trying to eat balanced healthy meals as often as I can, and having my rigorous 6-day 8 swim practice schedule every week, while also fitting in time for personal entertainment and schoolwork, keeping everything balanced.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in service around my community by volunteering at my local Humane Society every weekend. This is important to me because it is helping me prepare for what I hope will be my profession once I graduate college, which is Veterinary Medicine .
