Rowing Additional

I spent the Summer rowing at Ready Set Row’s Summer program in Delaware. I’ve learned how to produce a longer stroke, because I am shorter than the average rower. I also learned more mental toughness from Coach Holly who ran the program. We also went to Club Nationals in Batavia Ohio. It was a great experience learning how to row with a different group of girls from diverse backgrounds.

Personal Highlights

I was a Gymnast for twelve plus years. Three years @ level 10. @ level 8 I went on to win southeast regionals. I decided that my love and passion for gymnastic was not there anymore, so I decided to change sports and I got in to Rowing, Track, and weightlifting. I currently row Novice for Triangle Rowing Club in Raleigh NC I’ll be moving up to Varsity in Spring 2018. I am aiming for Varsity A boat. I know it is competitive as there are more Varsity girls. But I have a course of action to work hard mentally, and physically to achieve that goal. I workout at D1 Sports in Briar Creek Raleigh NC under the supervision of Kenny Appili and Graham Tuttle.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I’ve always had a competitive nature growing up. I would like to be recruited because I would love to row for a college team and showcase my athleticism, skill set, and competitive spirit.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Besides rowing 5 days a week, I sleep at least 8 hrs a day and workout 3 times a week @ D1 Sports in Raleigh. I also have begun calorie counting as a measure to maintain my weight and have started a nutrition plan to maintain a healthy diet.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
