Currently Swims for The Claremont Club 7 years. Swam for the Chino Valley Dolphins for 5 years prior. Is a sophomore this year. Loves to read and write. Is very strong. At a USC swim camp 2014, age 13, she held a plank during a contest between all attending athletes, and held it for 10 minutes, finally falling after several minutes of being required to alternate legs/arms. She came in second to a senior male. She is very tenacious! She is an excellent track sprinter as well; 100, 200 & 400. Ran for the Claremont Cougars at age 12 and was one of their fastest. Too bad she prefers swimming, and now water polo. She started her first 2 summer programs and now high school program last year. Is a sprinter, rarely losing the ball, and plays 1, 2, and 5. She was the CHS Frosh Girls Team Captain as of 1-9-17. She got the Coaches Award for the year. She is a rule follower and very helpful, and very assertive. She made Varsity swim as well in the butterfly and 500 free. Her sister was a senior and swim team captain, Katrina Strash, who is now attending UVA on a rowing scholarship. Talya is a Junior Olympian many times over in swim. Swam in Palomares League Finals, placing 7th in the fly and 11th in the 500 free. Will try the 200 free next year.
