Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

To offset any tuition costs by participating in something I am good at, sports.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During after school care, I assist the physical disabled kids at school with various sporting games. I like to share what I have learned and the kids love it.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I am smart and work hard both academically and athletically to perfect my skills. I am going to the 11th grade at The Walker School. I finished my 10th grade year with a 3.2 GPA while participating on the football, basketball and track teams. Throughout my tenure I have set many records and won a variety of awards, both individually and as a team.

It was an honor and privilege to be recognized by coaches whom allow me to participate, with the basketball teams, in summer camps at the Georgia Tech, University of Georgia and Georgia State University. The experience I received was valuable, reinforced my love for basketball, and will be treasured forever.

Sports have taught me about time management, goal setting, teamwork, & commitment to name a few life lessons. I am looking for a college that best fits me academically and athletically. I have set a goal to become an Architect and would like to receive a scholarship to play college basketball to offset any tuition expenses.

In closing, if you feel your university would be a good fit for me, I would like to hear from you and discuss how we may become a successful team.

Thanks,

Keon M. Smart

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Through my school programs, I volunteer with various activities to assist kids, elderly and physically disabled. Activities include providing clothing and food during the holidays and mentoring others.

These efforts are important as I believe if you make others happy and improve their situations, good things will come back in return.
