I've been a fast pitch, softball player since the age of 8. I will be entering my seventh (7th) season of travel ball and my second (2nd) season of high school ball. I played and started as the varsity pitcher for my high school last season as a freshman & sophomore years. I pitched all preseason, regular season and post season games.
I want to be recruited to play sports in college, because sports are a very important part of my life that I wouldn't want to live without. But, with school being equally as important, it is essential for me to have both in my life.
I find that being supportive and positive to my teammates is the most effective way of being a leader on the field. Building up those around you is a crucial part to being part of a team. Likewise, building up those around you in your life is just as equally important. Leadership in your everyday life is at it's best when everyone, including yourself, are happy and truly themselves.
Having a balanced and put-together schedule is the most effective and easiest way for me to be a successful student-athlete. Being able to condition and stay in shape, and also successfully balance homework and school, are definitely the most important parts of being a student-athlete.
I enjoy to volunteer through my school and outside of school. One program that I am particularly interested in, is an arrangement where students get to interact with the residents of a senior-living home in close proximity to my school. The most engaging part of the experience is being able to sit and listen to so many different stories told by the citizens. There is an abundance of knowledge shared from one generation to another.
