Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am a member of the Junior National Honors Society. This club requires community service hours and that I make good grades. I also participate in a Teen Leadership class that allows me to volunteer as a helper at our local elementary school. As an athlete, I am at all the practices and on time. I try my best at whatever I do and always show respect to my coaches. As a pitcher, I am often responsible for the leadership of the team. I cheer on my teammates and show them that we can battle through struggles as long as we support each other.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In addition to my school athletic programs (multiple sports), I also play softball for a select/travel team. This allows me to get more experience at a higher level of competition. I also have organized pitching lessons in addition to my individual practice with my dad on "off" days.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer in my church preschool once a month. This lets me serve and help with the teaching of the young kids since I want to be an elementary teacher. I have also helped in several community activities like trash pick-up days and been a server for community banquet events.
